There may be a deep resemblance between memory and traditional photography, or perhaps the practice of photography has come to resemble how we remember and forget. As in photography, nothing distinguishes a vital memory from another moment; only afterward is its significance revealed. Digital photography has accelerated this process: we live a moment, shoot it, look at the screen. The process no longer works as we our memory – it is merely another cheerful way to pass the day.

If the work of memory can be achieved by digital photography, I have not seen it. Until I do, the trustful Leica will continue the conversation with light that it began years before I was born.

My name is Michaël V. Dandrieux, and I am merely a witness to the memories that you will soon behold.
